Canadian Mental health Association, Vancouver-Fraser
We believe everyone deserves to be mentally healthy and live in a healthy community. By offering community-based mental health education, services, and supports for all ages, CMHA, Vancouver-Fraser contributes to the long-term health and wellbeing of our communities. We have three pillars of work:
- Wellness and Community Inclusion – We walk alongside people living with mental illness. We support them to reach their hopes and dreams and to live full and contributing lives in their communities.
- Prevention and Early Intervention – We increase young peoples’ mental health knowledge while developing their skills to maintain positive mental health and to ask for help when they need it.
- Mental Health Promotion – We help people with these aspects of living a mentally healthy life and reduce the stigma related to mental illness.
Canuck Place Children’s Hospice
At Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, we make a difference for BC’s children and families. We provide critical care for children living with life-threatening illnesses and the families who love them in our two provincial locations and in their home communities, empowering them to celebrate each moment, build precious memories and manage the pain and symptoms of their illnesses and conditions. We also support the families who love them and provide the tools and resources they need to live in the moment together.
Heart & Stroke Foundation BC/Yukon
Heart disease, stroke and vascular cognitive impairment take one life every five minutes in Canada. Today, more than 3.5 million people across the country of all ages, ethnicities and genders are living with these diseases. And 9 in 10 Canadians have at least one risk factor. By supporting Heart & Stroke, you will be investing in researchers — from doctoral students and young investigators through senior scientists — as they work to develop breakthroughs that help people living with heart disease, stroke and vascular cognitive impairment have the best quality of life possible. Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School
Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School is a non-profit school supporting students with language-based learning disabilities, located in North Vancouver, BC. We empower students by unlocking and removing obstacles to learning so that each child can experience personal growth and academic achievement. Our school specializes in educating and growing the confidence of students with dyslexia, autism, ADHD and anxiety, and other learning disabilities in Grades K – 12. Students come to KGMS after experiencing years of struggle and failure. We strive to empower them to move past their learning obstacles so they may experience a successful future. Our unique program includes one-on-one Orton Gillingham tutoring, the lowest teacher to student ratio in the province, and a focus on hands-on learning. We utilize the principles of Universal Design so that each child feels safe and comfortable both physically and emotionally to learn.
Surrey Food Bank
The Surrey Food Bank is Accredited and is a proud member of Food Banks BC and Food Banks Canada, providing community members in need in Surrey and North Delta since 1983. Our vision is “A nourished and thriving community, free of poverty”. Our mission is “We lead with care and dignity in the effective distribution of nutritious food to those in need, and build partnerships to provide related services to eliminate poverty in our community”. We take pride in what we do which is to “Invite, Inform, Involve, and Inspire” our community. Currently, we can’t keep up with our current demands as our clients have increased by 23%, the majority of whom have children under the age of 18 and our donations have decreased by 30%. It costs over $250 per baby per month for the food bank to provide baby food. Please Help Us Help Them!

Autism Speaks Canada a National Canadian Charity that is dedicated to enhancing lives today and accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow by supporting and working with community partners; enhancing resources and services; increasing understanding, acceptance and inclusion of people with autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.
BIG SISTERS OF BC LOWER MAINLAND
Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland enables life-changing mentoring relationships to inspire, ignite and unleash the power and potential of youth. Our core mentorship programs offer a safe space for self-identifying girls, non-binary, transgender and gender-diverse youth, ages 7-17 to work with caring mentors to realize their full potential. Doctors Without Borders
Doctors without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, exclusion from healthcare and natural disasters. Each year, hundreds of Canadian doctors, nurses, and logisticians join national and international MSF field workers to deliver care to people in need irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation in over 70 countries.
Down Syndrome Resource Foundation
The Down Syndrome Resource Foundation supports people living with Down syndrome and their families with individualized and leading-edge educational programs, health services, information resources, and rich social connections so each person can flourish in their own right.
KidSport BC
Through a confidential application process, KidSport provides funding for kids from families that need financial support to help cover the cost of sport registration fees #SoALLKidsCanPlay! The program is intended to help increase participation numbers for Sport BC members and their local clubs by helping under-resourced children and youth access a season sport. Last year KidSport chapters across BC distributed $1.3M to fund sport for 4,164 kids in 150 communities and 46 different sports.
Learning Buddies Network
Learning Buddies Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping elementary school students develop essential literacy and math skills through free one on one, after school mentoring in a fun group setting. We reach children who otherwise would not have the help they need. Our goals are to enhance self-esteem through improvement in academic skills, and to ignite a passion for learning in a safe and caring environment.
Mamas for Mamas
Mamas for Mamas is a national charitable organization that supports mothers and caregivers in crisis by providing ongoing support to individuals and families facing various poverty-related struggles. Our mission is to change the landscape of poverty through innovative approaches to financial barriers faced by struggling families. We envision a future where no Mama or child is left behind.
MS Canada
MS Canada’s mission is to connect and empower the MS community while creating positive change and a world free of MS. By harnessing the energy within our vibrant and diverse community – people living with MS, families, friends, volunteers, donors, researchers, clinicians, and many others – people affected by MS receive systems and supports needed to live rich and full lives, and researchers gain access to resources about the disease that help them develop improved treatment and care.
Ovarian Cancer Canada
Ovarian Cancer Canada is the only registered Canadian charity solely dedicated to eradicating ovarian cancer and preventing it from the future. OCC demands action, delivers change, and transforms lives. OCC stands hand-in-hand with the people experiencing, affected by, or at risk and will not rest until women are able to live their lives freely, fully, and uninhibited by ovarian cancer.
Richmond Centre for Disability
Richmond Centre for Disability (RCD) is a not-for-profit, disability-led, and community-based organization that provides services to communities with diverse abilities. We are committed to empowering people of all abilities to participate with dignity and confidence in their community and achieve independence to their fullest capabilities through a friendly environment that provides a wide range of supports while increasing public awareness and promoting universal accessibility. Our core services include information & networking, skills development & empowerment, tax filing clinic, and accessible parking permits.
